What can storytime do for your child?

  • Provide an introduction to a wide range of children’s books
  • Stimulate new ideas and interests
  • Help develop language skills
  • Provide an opportunity to socialise with other children
  • Encourage a life-long interest in books and libraries
  • Storytime can be a special sharing time with your child

A few hints to make storytime a positive worthwhile experience:

  • Listen to the stories with your child and participate in the activities
  • Prepare your child for storytime by explaining it will be a mixture of stories, rhymes and activities
  • Explain the need to sit quietly during the stories so that others can see and hear.
