The Reconnect Festival is well underway and we have so much more to tempt you with!
Through engaging talks, practical workshops, and exciting new initiatives, we will explore the themes of community, literacy, time & space, and sustainability, to reconnect you with your library, with your Council, and with each other.
Join local historian Terry Russel to hear the story of Charlie Hammond, a Dandenong Ranges identity in the early 20th century. Charlie was a talented artist and photographer, who documented his life in the hills in a series of historically significant pictorial sketchbooks now held at the State Library of Victoria.
Work with renowned illustrator Ashley Ellis, the woman behind the famous Brett Sutton range of homewares and facemasks released last year, to unlock your inner creativity and create images that tell your unique story. Learn the basics of Procreate on iPad to develop an illustrated selfie, from concept through to a finished work. This workshop is part of the My Gender Equal Future Project run by PLEDGE in partnership with Knox City Council. Sat 8 May, 1pm or Tue 18 May, 4pm at Ferntree Gully Library
