Your Library welcomes new CEO, Dr Karina Lamb

Your Library Limited is delighted to welcome Dr. Karina Lamb as our new Chief Executive Officer, starting Monday 28 October. With an impressive background that spans over 27 years in Local Government, business and the not-for-profit sectors, Dr. Lamb is poised to bring a wealth of knowledge and positive leadership to our team.

Currently serving as the Vice President and Institutional Director of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), Dr. Lamb has been a prominent advocate for the advancement of libraries and community engagement. She joins Your Library from her role as Director of Community and Corporate at Hepburn Shire Council, where she has led transformative initiatives in service mapping, community engagement, and cultural development. Previously, she held senior leadership roles at Monash City Council as Manager of Arts and Libraries and Mornington Peninsula Shire as Manager of Libraries, Arts, and Culture.

Dr. Lamb holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), a Master of Cultural Heritage, and is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course.

Acting Your Library Chair, Cr Kylie Spears said the interview panel was impressed with Karina’s experience in leading high-performing teams that focusses on positive outcomes for the community.

Karina said she was looking forward to leading the Your Library team.

“I am honoured to be stepping into the role of CEO at a pivotal time for Your Library Limited. Libraries are vital community hubs that foster connection, creativity, and lifelong learning. I look forward to working with our staff, local governments, and community partners to ensure our libraries continue to evolve and meet the changing needs of the diverse communities we serve.

“As we step into this new journey together, my vision is to lead with empathy, integrity, and a shared commitment to excellence. We will continue to deliver collections, public programs and initiatives that not only meets the needs of our community but inspires a lifelong love of learning and discovery.”
